Soren Nielsen is a founding member and Manager of Novus Windpower and Distributed Wind Systems. Prior to this, Soren worked as Business Development Manager for Vestas Americas – the leading wind turbine manufacturer. Prior to coming to America in 1999, Soren worked and lived in a number of different countries in Europe and Africa. He graduated with an MBA from Portland State University in 2000 and also earned a bachelors & masters degree in economics from Arhus Business School in Denmark.

Managed distributorship for vehicles and motorcycles for a staff of 35 in Uganda. (1997 to 1998)

Established and managed a sales subsidiary located in Kigali, Rwanda, which played a unique role in the rebuilding of Rwanda following the Genocide in 1994. The job as GM was a balancing act and required maintaining relationships with the local Rwandese Government and the international aid and development organizations. Acting Interim Danish Consul.
